Give Them Choice Or Give Me Death

Dr. George Richard Tiller
August 8, 1941 — May 31, 2009

Dr. George Tiller, the tireless crusader for the woman's right to choose — no ifs or buts — was murdered today in his church courtyard, presumably by a coward who decided to impose their beliefs and values on others. As Nietszche had warned,

"But thus I counsel you, my friends: Mistrust all in whom the impulse to punish is powerful. They are people of a low sort and stock; the hangman and the bloodhound look out of their faces. Mistrust all who talk much of their justice! Verily, their souls lack more than honey. And when they call themselves the good and the just, do not forget that they would be pharisees, if only they had power."
— Friedrich Nietzsche, Thus Spoke Zarathustra, 1892.

Dr. Tiller echoed Nietzche:

These people [the anti-choice mob] are against birth control, and they are against abortion. If you can deny women birth control ahead of time, and abortion services afterwards, then you have a male-dominated society forever. That is their unspoken conquest and their unspoken holy crusade: to control women's lives for male domination.

Dr. Tiller, you'll be missed dearly!

Update

Commenting on the arrest of the suspect in Dr. Tiller's murder, Scott Roeder, Mr. Dave Leach, an anti-choice activist who runs the Des Moines Newsletter, Prayer and Action News, said,

To call this a crime is too simplistic... There is Christian scripture that would support this."

So? The fellows who flew a couple of planes into the World Trade Center on 9/11 and killed 3000 men and women claimed support in their Islamic scripture, too!

  2. Isn't it ironic that the same class of people who oppose abortion as murder justify a murder on grounds of religion.
It is a very sad world we are living in.
