Church vs. State

K.A. Paul, Chairman of Global Peace Initiative (GPI), a Christian Evangelist group, has accused Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy asked for $5 million as a contribution to Congress, Reddy's political party. As a quid pro quo, the CM promised to help GPI to spread its wings to foreign skies. Reddy has denied Paul's allegation as "wild and baseless". He added that Paul was a friend of N. Chandrababu Naidu, the president of the rival Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

Politics as usual, you say? Well, you see, Rajasekhar Reddy is a Christian, as Paul is. Now, I wonder who is violating the ninth commandment, "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor" [Exodus 20:2-14], the shepherd or one of his lost sheep!
